St. Margaret's Co-educational English Secondary and Primary School
We run an ongoing exchange program for our students.
On Tuesday, December 16, our Primary 6 Japanese language learners visited our sister school, the Hong Kong Japanese School.
The visitors received a warm, festive welcome, followed by a powerful traditional taiko drumming performance. After the opening ceremony, students formed mixed teams to enjoy classic Japanese sports day activities such as tamaire (ball toss) and tsunahiki (tug-of-war). These lively games brought smiles and laughter, encouraged natural conversation, and strengthened friendships.
On Thursday, 22 January 2026, our school welcomed 19 students and four teachers from the Hong Kong Japanese School. After a campus tour, students joined a language exchange session with the Sugoroku board game and a “Mission Card” activity, where groups presented photos on the theme of “Challenge.” The program encouraged teamwork, creativity, and cultural understanding, and concluded with warm farewells.
These exchanges provide a rare and valuable opportunity to experience Japanese culture and use authentic Japanese in a real-world setting—all while staying in Hong Kong.
