St. Margaret's Co-educational English Secondary and Primary School
Our School began to implement the 1 to 1 device programme in 2014. That was an important step in building up technology use in our school to complement students’ learning needs. This has not only helped students to foster their creativity and self-learning ability, but has also stretched both our students and staff in their knowledge construction. Students’ diversity can also be addressed as they can ultimately personalize their learning based on their individual strengths, needs, skills and interests.
Our 1 to 1 programme now runs from Primary 5 to Secondary 6. Students use an iPad to complement their learning from Primary 5 onwards. When they reach Secondary 4, they have the option to continue using an iPad or switch to using a MacBook.
Naturally, there are still many technological boundaries to be explored, tools to be developed, and programmes or applications to be learnt and utilized. The most important thing is how we can prepare our students for the ever-changing world so that our students and teachers continue to be at forefront of education.
