In January 2025, a group of 13 secondary students embarked on an unforgettable 10-day journey to Spain, where they had the chance to deeply immerse themselves in the country's culture and language. Their home base was the lively city of Seville, where they stayed with Spanish host families. This provided them with a truly authentic experience, allowing them to practice their Spanish daily while embracing local traditions. They enjoyed the Spanish cuisine, having home-cooked meals as well as savoring traditional dishes and tapas at local restaurants.

Their adventure coincided with the festive Christmas season, adding an extra layer of magic to their journey. They had the chance to witness and participate in Spanish holiday traditions, including the spectacular Three Wise Men parade. 

Beyond sightseeing and academics, the students also took part in enriching hands-on activities. They attended a cooking class, where they learned to prepare a classic Spanish dish like gazpacho, and embraced Spain’s vibrant arts scene by participating in a flamenco lesson and watching a live flamenco performance.

Throughout their stay, the students explored the rich history and heritage of the region, venturing beyond Seville to visit fascinating cities such as Córdoba and Granada. In addition to cultural excursions, they engaged in meaningful academic experiences, attending Spanish language classes and spending a day at a high school in Seville. This unique opportunity allowed them to interact with local students, fostering connections and even traveling together to Jerez de la Frontera for a shared excursion.

This immersive experience has left a lasting impact on our students, filled with personal growth, cultural discovery, and the joy of new friendships. It is a journey they will treasure for years to come.
