St. Margaret's Co-educational English Secondary and Primary School
Eight students from S.2 to S.5, along with two teachers, participated in a Japanese Study Tour to Miyazaki, Japan, from 22 to 26 January, 2025. This was our first time holding this cultural and language exchange program in January.
During the tour, our students engaged in two types of homestay programs: one with farming families (Minpaku) and the other with Miyazaki secondary students. One of the most memorable activities was the Minpaku homestay, where they experienced farming, fishing, and night hiking under a sky filled with millions of stars.
Additionally, our students enjoyed an Onsen (hot spring), participated in ceramics painting, and attended a kimono workshop with the Miyazaki students. They also explored the charming old town of Nichinan City, sightseeing and savoring traditional Japanese cuisine.
Through this tour, they became more confident in speaking Japanese, as they spent several days living with Japanese families and interacting with local students.
