In early July 2024, a group of our school's students from Primary 5 to Secondary 2 embarked on an exciting 10-day French study tour, exploring the captivating landscapes of the Morzine Alps and the cultural treasures of Geneva, Switzerland.

The journey began with a 7-day stay in the picturesque town of Morzine, nestled in the heart of the French Alps. Each afternoon, the students immersed themselves in French language lessons, honing their skills through interactive and engaging methods. In the mornings, they embarked on a variety of fun-filled activities that allowed them to fully experience the natural beauty of the region.

From thrilling treetop adventures and exhilarating zip-line rides to challenging rock climbing and orienteering missions, the students were able to appreciate the stunning alpine scenery firsthand. They also had the opportunity to visit a serene nearby lake and explore the captivating gorges that dot the landscape. Throughout their time in Morzine, the students resided in a cozy ski chalet, where they were treated to freshly prepared French cuisine, further enhancing their cultural immersion.

After their alpine adventure, the students then travelled to the vibrant city of Geneva. Here, they had the chance to delve into the city's rich cultural heritage, visiting the iconic United Nations headquarters and marveling at the beauty of the famous flower clock. The educational aspect of the tour continued as the students explored the CERN museum, where they learned about the groundbreaking scientific research conducted at the Large Hadron Collider. To cap off their time in Geneva, the students enjoyed a delightful lunch at the renowned Big Bang Café, located within the CERN complex, and embarked on a 3-hour boat ride around the serene Lake Geneva.

This French study tour proved to be a transformative experience for our students. Not only did they enhance their language skills and deepen their understanding of French culture, but they also had the opportunity to explore the breathtaking natural wonders of the Alps and the rich historical and cultural heritage of Geneva. This journey has undoubtedly inspired our students to continue their pursuit of French language proficiency and to embrace the global perspectives that come with cultural immersion.
