World Book Day 2023

World Book Day is a much-awaited event at our school, and this year we celebrated the day on 18 April. With “Books Change the World” as its theme, World Book Day was celebrated with a variety of fun and engaging reading-related activities to promote a love of books and reading among students.

A book hunt inter-class competition was conducted for both primary students and secondary students, which helped students expand their knowledge of different books, authors, and genres.

P.1 to P.4 students celebrated the day by dressing up as their favourite book characters and showcasing their creativity and love for reading in the Book Character Sharing and Book Character Costume Competition. P.5 and P.6 students were able to enjoy the fun of various booth games in the Reading Fair prepared by their schoolmates from S.1 and S.2.

Both the primary and secondary students were keen to utilize their talents to the fullest in art creation by actively participating in the Book Character Colouring (The Little Prince) for P.1 students and bookmark design for P.2 to S.5 students. A Chinese Book Report Competition was also launched for S.3 to S.5 students,

Furthermore, all the students and teachers watched a special Reading Marathon Video prepared for this special day, where a vivid book sharing was presented in 6 languages by over 50 presenters from our students, teachers, as well as parents.

Overall, it was an enjoyable and meaningful event for all, helping to promote the message that books have the power to change our lives and ultimately the whole world. We hope that this event will inspire students to have a lifelong love for reading.
