Lion Dance to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit

Our Students’ Association “Atlas” drew a joyous crowd on 10 February 2023 when they performed a Lion Dance in front of a very cheerful crowd of students and teachers in our Covered Playground. This celebratory event is a student-initiated activity, and not only were the members of the Students’ Association involved, but they also invited many Non-Chinese Speaking students as well as their Chinese teachers Miss Poon, Miss Leung and Mr. Yik to help with this very meaningful performance. For two whole months, the students, and teachers were very dedicated in researching where to buy the costumes and props, and planned how to perform the authentic ‘moves’.

On the day of the Lion Dance performance, our Principal Ms. Lee performed the eye dotting ceremony, and the 2 colourful lions came alive!! The dance was flawless and drew huge cheers from the audience of both students and teachers. Throughout the whole event, our performers were responsible, dedicated, and very passionate. It was evident that they showcased their talents with confidence. It was indeed an event to kick-start the Year of the Rabbit!
