St. Margaret's Co-educational English Secondary and Primary School
The 37th Sing Tao Inter-school Debating Competition is a single elimination tournament co-organised by Sing Tao Daily, The Standard and the Education Bureau. It is a very intellectually demanding competition as it challenges students' language as well as critical thinking skills. Many elite schools and international schools participate in this very competition. This year's topics range from organ donation and housing policy in Hong Kong to privatisation of the MTR and abolishment of the Lump Sum Grant. Our S5 English Debate Team (S5C Michelle Theng, Chloe Chan and Keith Yeung) have recently won the Quarter Final and is now one of the 4 finalists in this year's competition. Our students have also been awarded Best Debater and Best Interrogative Debater in every match of the competition so far. It is truly encouraging to see that our students are demonstrating excellence in this competition against other top secondary students in Hong Kong. We wish them every success in the upcoming Semi-final.
