Science Education

Curriculum approach

We offer an enriching science curriculum with a variety of learning experiences, emphasizing inquiry and investigation, science processing skills, and scientific attitudes and values based on accurate scientific concepts and knowledge in the nature of science.

Scientists at work

Bored of cookbook, recipe-type experiments? At St. Margaret’s, experiments and demonstrations used in our science lessons are designed based on our teachers’ scientific research experience, as well as professional and pedagogical knowledge to meet the ever evolving learning needs of our students.

Every child is a scientist

At St. Margaret’s, the fundamentals of science are encapsulated in our Stage 1 General Studies lessons and formal science training starts at the beginning of Key Stage 2. Having acquired basic lab skills, students get to conduct experiments they design themselves.

Learning beyond the classroom

Science is all around us! Ecological field trips, industrial visits and collaboration with universities are all important elements of science learning. Students even have the opportunity to learn science in amusement parks!
