Personal, Social and Humanities Education

The Personal, Social and Humanities Education (PSHE) Department aims to provide whole personal education for students to understand the world, to be broad-minded and to build up good character through six academic subjects, three cross-disciplinary subjects and Life Value Education lessons.

The Structure of PSHE

Interactivity, academic discourse and multi-perceptiveness are what we uphold in conducting lessons of different social sciences subjects under PSHE. We provide ample learning opportunities for both inside and outside the classroom environment, through our teaching team’s collaboration, students’ initiatives, parents' support and through the community. The humanities nature provides us with a rich soil to embed positive value education across subjects.

Besides enriching students’ knowledge and skills, we help them identify their own and others’ values, reflect upon them, deal with conflicts and develop positive values.

Curriculum Features:

  • Comprehensive Life Value Education curriculum with L.E.A.D.E.R.S. in Action Programme for Primary 5 to Secondary 5 students at the beginning of the school year.
  • Small class teaching and regular lesson time for Independent Enquiry Study for Liberal Studies in senior forms.
  • Strategic use of different online platforms to facilitate student learning.
  • Emphasizing collaboration between subjects within the PSHE department and with subjects under other Key Learning Areas.
